Please prepare your files in the following manner so the Virtual Packaging Team can produce your mock-ups more quickly and confidently. By following these guidelines you also help to eliminate error and ensure that your project will be delivered correct and on time.
Mac Art: All artwork to be sent on a disk unless you have a same day turnaround. If uploading to our FTP site please compress all files before uploading. FTP Information Software: Illustrator and Photoshop (All must be editable and layered) Fonts: ALL FONTS MUST BE OUTLINED Bleed: please allow 1/8” on all artwork Registration marks and crop marks: include on all files on a separate layer. Color References: please provide us when required (pantones, swatches, color proofs, etc.) Images: resolution of no more than 300dpi; 200dpi is optimal. Please provide us with a color output (hard copy) Color separations: not necessary; however, white ink and metallic foils are added separately. Each of these needs to be supplied on separate layers as a 100% black and white mask. Foils: please provide a positive mask of those specific areas, i.e. black=foil areas, If the colors are to have a metallic quality and the substrate is metallic, please supply a complete negative mask, i.e. black=metallic areas, white=opaque areas. Translucent colors on clear or opaque substrate: supply a complete negative mask, i.e. black=translucent areas, white=opaque areas Opaque colors and/or white on clear substrate: please supply a black and white negative mask of those specific areas, i.e.white=opaque colors and white inks, black=clear areas Die Lines: please provide correctly positioned on the color file. Be sure to put overall measurements, as well as measurements for individual panels, in fraction form on the die. Please have dies in a separate layer. Corrugated: please preview material thickness and number of sheets when designing boxes- E flute-1/16”, B flute-1/8”, C flute-11/64”. Supporting files and fonts: make sure all are present with the hard copy supplied. In instances where Virtual Packaging is required to make adjustments to artwork that does not meet the above criteria, an additional charge will be incurred at the rate of $95.00 per hour. Mask Layer can be created in house for an additional charge of $45.00 for the first mask, and $20.00 for each additional.
